Anyone Else Excited?

After their first four albums were re-issued on June ( 1967’s The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, 1968’s A Saucerful of Secrets and 1969’s More soundtrack and Ummagumma double-LP), Pink Floyd fans will get another amazing treat — not one, not two but THREE albums from the 1970s will be re-released on heavyweight 180g vinyl. On September 23, ‘Atom Heart Mother’ (1970), ‘Meddle’ (1971) and ‘Obscured By Clouds’ (1972) will be available for everyone.

This is in continuation with their vinyl reissues campaign. So pretty much, all of their albums will be available for re-release. The Wall and The Division Bell will be out on August 26.

If you can still recall, ‘Atom Heart Mother’ was a huge commercial success. However, there was one interview where David Gilmour talked about the album, saying that it was:

“a load of rubbish. We were at a real down point … I think we were scraping the barrel a bit at that period”

On November 11, Pink Floyd will also release a 27-disc boxed set.
